Mine does that a lot too :U Usually it prompts me about something being wrong witht the tablet driver. It happens when you constantly plug in and unplug the tablet D: Resetting the computer always works for me...
There's a little tab called brushes towards the top on right hand-side and when you click it there's this option called shape dynamic and you click it and it makes it work....at least it does for me.
yea, idk if you have been answered or not, but you have to completely remove the driver from the computer and reinstall. it is a pain in the ass and it keeps happening to my friend with her new tablet (so apperently it has to do with newer versions?)
anyways, if you need any help like instructions on how to get to the unistall program menu (cause she couldnt get to it even by the icon, so you have to do it a special way) let me know.
A tablet that refuses to work... fun... I agree with -RinnyMai- best thing to do is re-install. Also try restarting your computer/laptop after installing it; it's supposed to start immediately, but sometimes you have to restart so your laptop(or computer, dunno which one) so it can register the tablet.
yeah.. this has happened to me quite a bit since getting my new Intuos Large.. Best thing to do is simply try unplugging it and plugging it back in and restarting your computer... it's funky.. but idk.. hopefully it goes away, because mine doesn't really do that too much anymore now for some reason. Good luck!

just go to 'preference file utility' then look under 'all user preferences' and click 'remove'.
